Our Little Benny

Ok everybody we got a package today from my little brother Ben. He sent us a cd with pictures and a tape. I figured all my family would like too see them as well. If your not my family or really just don't know Ben then you probably wont really care about the pictures, but they are of Italy which is beautiful so you might find them interesting. There are a lot, I have to post it on two different slides because there are so many. Something a little funny about the pictures, Lance and I were listening to the tape and Ben was talking about the city he is in and how it is on the Mediterranean Sea. He then started saying that the beaches really weren't anything special and kinda crappy. Then he talked about how no one goes in the water and just lays out on the beach and that he didn't understand why they don't go swimming . What Lance and I got a lick out of was that he said there are just a bunch of rocks on the beach and that's why they aren't that great. Lance and I then went to look at the pictures and came to the ones of the beach and looked at the rocks and laughed. You have to understand that Lance is mister rock man and saw those as prime climbing rocks right over the ocean! To him it was BEAUTIFUL! So Ben will be getting an ear full on how he should appreciate the beauty of them. Have fun looking oh and sorry some pictures are blurry! I will let Ben know he needs to work on his skills!

My mom the other day decided to come home with a little treat for everyone to taste. She told Lance and I that it was in the fridge and we could have some when we wanted. I forgot all about this delicious little treat which was just fine by me and my body, but one day in a time of need for nourishment I remembered this amazing little treat. I told my self just one little try and that was all. I took the first bite and a crazy mad party went off in my mouth! It was amazing! Now all I want to eat is this ice cream but I have been somewhat good at refraining from taking that spoon and just having a "little" bite. So I think that Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream should be banned so it isn't there to tempt me because there is no resisting this little bit of heaven. I'm warning you don't even think about trying it unless you think you can handle the groovy little party that will happen!

Tight Quarters

So Friday night I went on a walk between Providence Canyon and Logan Canyon in order to scope out some cliffs that I have been considering bolting for a while. It turns out that the cliffs ended up not being anything spectacular, so I continued down the path. After another few hundred meters, I found a trail that cut strait up the mountainside into an outcropping of quartzite. Out of curiosity I pursued the thin trail and found that it lead to a couple of old abandoned mine shafts. I explored the first only to find that it ended after about fifteen meters. The entrance to the second shaft is pictured above and opened up into a small room that split into four shafts. I decided to explore the deepest looking one. After five meters, I came to another fork in the mine. Upon stopping to consider my options, I heard the sound of several small rocks being displaced on the floor directly behind me. I quickly turned and shined my dim cell phone light in the direction of the noise. There I saw a small rattlesnake about a meter away, with its venomous head only four centimeters from where I had just stepped seconds before! HOLY CHEESE DOGS IN THE MITTENS OF BULIMIC CARPENTERS!!! (I believe those were my exact thoughts, though it's hard to tell because the carpenters may have been reading a book about rubber pants assembly) After considering my plight, I decided to just wait until the snake had passed to the other side of the mine shaft (which was only about three cubits wide) and then carefully edged my way around the coiled, hissing and rattling reptile. What a story! phew!

Tony Grove Adventures

The Dickey family went to Tony Grove on Thursday and had a great time. Here are a bunch of pictures from all the things we did. My favorite of all these photos are all the kids filthy faces! Then I love the pictures of Grandpa Dickey trying to wash their faces, I'm not sure why he bothered but he gets an A for effort.
