Castlewood Canyon Bouldering

Dani and I went out to Colorado for spring break and had a marvelous time with Karen and Zack as most of you may have seen on Karen's blog. Here are a couple of the photos of a rock climbing area that Zack showed me while I was out there. Thanks again to Karen and Zack and family for an amazing week of fun.

Spelunking Spendor

Today, my friends and I (Lance) took advantage of some sunny weather and decided to snowshoe to the entrance of a cave and explore it. We originally hoped to be able to somehow get up above Tony Grove, but something about the nine mile hike in from the highway (and the nine mile hike back) deterred us and so we decided to go to a cave located in the sinks area of the canyon. We rappelled about twenty feet into the entrance of the cave, and then spent the next hour or so, exploring the cave. We found about a hundred and fifty feet of tight cave and saw lots of cool cave features. As soon as I get the pictures from my friend's camera, I'll post more pictures (Maybe some of me this time) We had good fun. The snow structures in these photos are caused by snow that falls through the holes in the cieling. The cave structure picture features a large (4") ribbon, a few stalagtites, a stalagmite and what may be precursors to some hollow soda straws.

Delightful Valentine Surprize

I've been sick all week so I didn't wake up until 11:30 a.m. When I came up the stairs, I found that Lance had been busy all morning preparing an amazing dinner! I was banned to the living room so he could prepare, which was fine because there was plenty of those cheesy Hallmark Movies on. As you can see Lance went all out! I felt like I was in Kitchen Stadium as a judge to all this amazing food. He even pulled out the blow torch to add that extra toasted affect on the Mac and Cheese. Yes the food tasted as amazing as it looked. Thanks Honey for an amazing evening! Best Valentines yet, I hope there are many more to come! The fact that I had on my qwest sweatshirt and flannel jammie pants made things extra romantic!

What We Do For Beauty

My buddy Baillie and I had a girls night a couple nights ago, We get together to make ourselves beautiful! The underarms were getting pretty scary and Lance tolerates a lot but after about 2 months he couldn't handle it anymore! We busted out the good ole sugar to get rid of the nast I had going on. This is just one of things we learn at school. The 10 minutes of pain is totally worth not having to shave for 4 weeks!

Grateful

This week has been very monumental. 5 years ago this week I laid in a hospital bed receiving my last treatment for cancer, somewhere I never thought I'd be. But 5 years later I'm here! So much has happened and I have learned so many great lessons. My physical health has improved greatly, I have a wonderful husband, and I'm in school doing what I love everyday. I have so much in my life that I am grateful for. So as I hit this 5 year mark I look at where I have come in my life and couldn't be happier. 5 years officially puts me in remission!
